Silicon Valley born & raised

Growing up immersed in the culture of Silicon Valley, I was introduced to computers and the command prompt when I was barely out of kindergarten. (My first computer's CPU clocked in at 33MHz!) I learned that I could teach the computer to do something, and I took off from there. In fact, my current love of computer games - primarily role-playing - came from the idea of using a computer to tell a story. The unfortunate bit was: it was still text-based.

Bootcamp

After a family situation demanded I move back home, my Computer Science education was cut short. I took a tour through work in foodservice management, learning my business operations and leadership skills. When opportunity knocked, I looked to the Silicon Valley bootcamp curriculum to go back to my love of software. Through and after Coding Dojo, I've created full stack web applications across multiple technologies in order to become comfortable and fluent in the their use.

Design

.Webpages.Elegantly.

Knowledgeable in regards to not only the most recent technology, but also the most popular designs. Can craft a layout just as easily as making a pixel perfect recreation of a layout you provide.

Develop

.Coding.Refined.

I started programming in elementary school, using BASIC on the library computers to make text-based games and narrative stories. I've build up my repertoire to include the popular programming languages, and the drive to learn more.

Dream

.Discovery.Enhanced.

Because I enjoy learning and understanding new concepts and technology, I'm always looking for my next area of expertise. My desire to be a hobby game designer means I'm always looking for new technologies to achieve ever higher goals.

Projects & Creations

a Sorted Home

This self-made web application takes care of administrative functions that assist with living in the same household with multiple people. Be that partners, roommates, or otherwise, you can handle finances, planning, and communication through the intuitive interface that keeps everyone on the same page. (This webapp isn't quite finished yet! A redesign in React is on its way!)

TrackMy.Build

A companion site to the game Path of Exile, this is more specific in its intended use. For players of the game, they can look up a character on their account and trackmy.build will track, store, and create a timeline of the character throughout the life of the character.

Due to changes to the Path of Exile public API, this app needs updating. Meanwhile, see a sample of its output here, and explore it on GitHub here.

"todos" in React

This was a small React project that I put together simply as a demonstration of the use of React to create a self-contained single page application.
